The new-age boho trend swarmed the runways with a resounding "swoosh" of the swaying fringe. From purses and boots to tassel necklaces, fringe was everywhere, paired with floral printed dresses, over-sized sweater dresses and plenty of floppy hats. While some went all-out 70's (a la Anna Sui), other shows merely hinted, more like the girls at Rodarte. This look is all about a more comfortable, loose fit, paired with harder accessories. Printed dresses with boots was the best and most achievable example.

The New Classic
The All-American Luxe woman is ready for anything, because she's dressed for anything. Powerful yet streamlined, tailored yet feminine, on trend yet so classic she'd never go out of style. Think rich cashmere coats with fur in every size, shape and form, worn over tailored dresses and pant suits. The shoes and accessories can be played up or down as much as you'd prefer, ranging from playful to severe, but the key to this look is keeping the colors neutral, or at least toned down. Stick to one color palette, and play around with textures instead.

More Beads, Please
Layers of tulle, floral prints mixed with lace, and beads and embellishments everywhere. The runway fairytale princesses ranged from gypsy and free spirited to darkly romantic, but the whimsical air about them all gave us the impression that when it comes to dressing up: more is more. Reem Acra's runway had embellished fur coats, with fully beaded dresses and the highest heels covered in rhinestones. Vivenne Tam gave a more youthful outlook with a slightly Victorian flair, but still spared no sequin when it came to the gowns. And as for the reigning queens of fairytale dressing, the women at Marchesa gave their usual beautifully crafted feminine dresses that dreams are made of, styled to perfection with Gatsby-esque hair and the biggest, sparkliest jewels of all.

I know what you're thinking: "When is black and white NOT a trend..." But its the mod styling and color-blocking with minimal accessories that make this trend equally refreshing and totally doable. The actual pieces themselves don't have the word "trend" written all over them, meaning you can go with investment pieces, knowing you'll be able to wear them year after year. While labels like Calvin Klein Collection and Narciso Rodriguez have become synonymous with stylish yet minimal neutrals, Oscar de la Renta, under the rule of new designer Peter Copping, took a turn for the simplistic with the best looks showcasing this blatant black and white theme. Keep your clothes simple and your accessories simpler.
