ALL THINGS PLAID
Plaid will always be a personal favorite of mine, but it was refreshing to see more unconventional uses of the pattern. Everything from a chic winter coat, to a full plaid suit, to a full plaid suit WITH a matching plaid shirt underneath, designers are certainly mad for plaid. We decided to shake things up and take plaid out of the office, and straight to a cocktail party with this fun cropped jumpsuit, complete with large sparkly chandelier earrings, metallic pumps and a vintage Chanel purse.

This trend is all about mixing and matching. Tommy Hilfiger paired military jackets with leather skinnies and tee's, Burberry showed them with floral dresses, and Dolce & Gabbana paired them with cropped slacks and flower headdresses. Verdict: anything goes! While designers mostly showed military jackets, we love the paired down look of this military inspired skirt, mixed with a suede shirt and suede boots.

Designers seem to toy with the idea of fur (both real and faux) year after year for fall, but this time it's all about vintage-inspired trim. Fur covered large lapels, oversized cuffs on wool coats, etc. Play around with color fur trim too, as seen with Prabal Gurung's fall collection.
