New to You was first established in 1992. The owner Christina, as unique, stylish and eclectic as the boutique she runs, had a dream to open a prestigious consignment shop. New To You is the style-maven’s favorite platform to buy or sell amazing contemporary or vintage pieces.
Personally starting and owning the business over 20 years ago allowed Christina to have her young daughter, Arianne, with her during the work day. It also afforded her the opportunity to create a diverse shopping environment; regular retail was just not her cup of tea!
An experienced shopper herself, Christina knows that many women enjoy the thrill of shopping more than their actual purchases. From this knowledge, the concept of her store was created. Christina has chosen to sell high quality, designer items to women of all ages, styles, and cultures – helping them to create a style of their own, while simultaneously curing those with prior “shopping remorse.”
“We were lucky enough to experience new rich cultures, delightful sights, delicious curries, & of course exotic & elaborate clothing!”
Christina’s passion for interesting and dynamic designs has stemmed from her exotic childhood. Her parents, who were quite the fashionable pair, met on the Orient Express while traveling through Yugoslavia . As a young girl, Christina lived everywhere from Panama to Pakistan . Her childhood included riding camels and elephants, as well as seeing cobras, mongoose, lizards, and tigers on almost a daily basis. She was even fortunate enough to live in Germany at the same time as Julia Child (who, by the way, baked her sister’s 2nd birthday cake!)
Christina’s wealth of worldly experience is now exhibited in every facet of her “Chic Boutique.” She is excessively fussy about what she accepts, and realizes that this may bother some potential consignors, but she is adamant about only offering the best quality and cleanest items for her shoppers. When dressing someone for a special occasion, or just a day around town, Christina believes honesty is the best policy when offering style advice.
